Lazio will be taking a commanding 3-0 lead to Sweden next week after running riot at the Stadio Olmpico.
Elfsborg held out until 24 minutes in when Aleksandar Kolarov found a way past Ante Covic. Elfsborg needed an away goal to increase their chances of going through to the Group stage. Elfsborg were hit a blow when Mauro Zaraté made it 2-0 nine minutes before half-time.
Lazio came out and knew that a 3rd would kill the tie and they had to wait until 69 minutes to get that killer goal. Stefano Mauri popped up to score and give Lazio a real commanding lead to take to Sweden next Thursday.
