Allsvenskan Round 26 Preview

The Allsvenskan is back this weekend with some great games to be held over the weekend with Kalmar v IFK Göteborg to pick of the lot.

Kalmar v IFK Göteborg
Allsvenskan leaders Kalmar face a stern test against 2007 champions IFK Göteborg. Kalmar who have stuttered since losing leading marksman Cesar Santin in the summer could end up just a point ahead should IFK defeat them on Saturday.

AIK v IFK Norrköping
AIK host bottom club IFK Norrköping with 3 points a strong possiblity. Norrköping need the win to save themselves from relegation but the former giants will need a giant display if 3 points are goin to be taken back with them.

Ljungskile v Halmstad
Ljungskile need the 3 points more than Halmstad with relegation fears to overcome the newly-promoted side will be looking for all 3 on Sunday.

GAIS v Malmö
GAIS and Malmö is a mid-table clash with both having noting to play for really. Both sides are well clear of relegation and a long way from European qualification. Malmö though did end the unbeaten run of Örebro before the international break.

Örebro v Helsingborgs
Örebro lost their unbeaten run last time out but still have a home unbeaten run to defend as European-chasing Helsingborgs come to central Sweden. Örebro have driven away from the relegation zone and a win on Monday will secure their top flight status for 2009.

GIF Sundsvall v Gefle
A relegation six-pointer on Monday night as GIF Sundsvall host Gefle in what should be a great game. A win wont secure top flight status but should raise morale to the victor but it should be a cracker.

Hammarby v Djurgården
The big Stockholm-derby which over the years has had crowd trouble takes place on Monday night with Hammarby looking for a UEFA Cup place. Djurgården's poor form earlier in the year has seen them out of the European places and need a win to claim the bragging rights of Stockholm.

Elfsborg v Trelleborgs
2nd placed Elfsborg could go a point behind Kalmar should the leaders lose and Elfsborg beat surprise package Trelleborgs. Tuesday nights game also sees Trelleborg in with a shout of 6th place.
