Åtvidabergs Promoted

Åtvidabergs have won promotion to the Allsvenskan for next season. The club have secured the 2nd automatic promotion place with one game to spare after a 1-0 win away to bottom club Vasalunds. The club will make a return to the top tier for the first time since being relegated in 1982. They join Mjälby in the Allsvenskan next year with the 3rd identity to be decided next month. To their credit Åtvidabergs kept some sort of challenge to runaway winners Mjällby but the work starts here for the club that hasn't seen any Allsvenskan action since the early 80s. Peter Swärdh has built a good team that included some loan signings during the year and now that Allsvenskan football has been secured maybe some of those signings will return next year. No doubt it is a proud moment in the small town of Åtvidabergs.
