AIK 1-0 Jeunesse Esch 13th July 2010

AIK began their champions league campaign with an uninspiring 1-0 win over Luxembourg titleholders Jeunesse Esch. A single strike from Pontus Engblom was enough for AIK to win on the night while also taking a narrow advantage to Luxembourg city next week.
The visitors were content of holding out for a draw and were on course until Engblom drove a shot through Marc Oberweis from a narrow angle undid their resistance.
AIK had other chances to extend their lead Nils-Eric Johansson scuffing his shot from a corner while Antonio Flávio had his shot curling off target. Jeunesse Esch almost found an away goal when Serdo Pupovac was muscled out by Per Karlsson which means Jeunesse Esch have it all to do next week.
