Both sides that could and proberly should be challenging for a Europa League place did battle at the Orjans Vall on Sunday. A tense game between two sides who's seasons' have been hot and cold was always going to be tight and it was the hosts who took all three points.

The decisive goal came on 41 minutes thanks to Mikael Rosén who stabbed home from inside the IFK box. IFK have struggled to match last year's achievement of 2nd place in the Allsvenskan but this defeat moves them closer to the drop zone. Halmstads move to within five points of a Europa league place.
