Örgryte 2-1 Halmstads 15th September 2009

Örgryte are off the bottom of the Allsvenskan for the first time this season. They are now finally looking likely to complete the greatest of escapes after this victory. But they had to work for this victory at home to a Halmstads side that is on a poor run of form and conceding goals at an awful rate. Marcus Olsson gave the visiting side the lead four minutes before the interval. Örgryte were not downhearted after that. Brazilian Alvaro Santos, becoming Örgryte's weapon in this relegation battle leveled ten minutes into the 2nd half. Chances for either fell and both keepers had to be alert. Just as we were heading for a draw the side bottom of the table for the whole season won the game, Alexander Mellqvist getting himself on the scoreboard in dramatic fashion in added time. Örgryte, off the bottom but still work to do if they are to survive while Halmstads, the worrying run of form continues and they are now in the thick of this increasingly exciting relegation fight.
