The second semi-final of this year's Svenska Cupen saw holders IFK Göteborg advance to meet AIK in the final courtesy of two goals late on. It was the visiting holders take the lead on 17 minutes through Sebastian Eriksson. Helsingborgs were determined to make the final and were level five minutes from half-time thanks to Erik Sundin. Henrik Larsson was bought on for the goal scorer Sundin but couldn't find a way through the tough Göteborg defense. IFK Göteborg's own custodian put them in the lead on 76 minutes which made for a thrilling finish. Helsingborgs lead by Larsson in attack tried in vain for the equalizer. As Helsingborg chased for that goal IFK Göteborg hit them with a sucker-punch four minutes from time as Theodor Bjarnason made it 3-1 to the visitors and ensured a final meeting with AIK on September 26th.
