Sweden prepare for Austria showdown

Sweden are preparing for Wednesday's friendly with Austria with a few players from the american tour called up. 

This squad includes 3 home-based players with veteran Daniel Andersson (Malmö) and Rasmus Elm (Kalmar) included. Their is a call-up for Adam Johansson of IFK Göteborg who impressed during the tour last month. 

However Henrik Larsson and Zlatan Ibrahimovic are not in the squad. Olof Mellberg is included along with Andreas Grandqvist and Erik Edman. 

Viktor Elm is also included following an impressive start to his Heerenveen career.

Mexico 0-1 Sweden

Sweden ended their American tour with a narrow 0-1 win over continental heavyweights Mexico in Oakland. Sweden opted to start John Alvbåge in goal and the Orebro no.1 made a few saves. Mexico managed by fellow Swede Sevn-Goran Eriksson threatend and fielded a strong line-up that included Matías Vuoso. But both sides were using the game as an exercise with Mexico facing the USA in the world cup qualifiers later.
