Sweden 4-2 Bosnia-Herzegovina 29th May 2010

Sweden warmed up for the Euro 2012 qualifiers in September with a 4-2 victory over Bosnia-Herzegovina. The game was Erik Hamrén's first as Sweden manager at home since he took over from Lars Lagerback, who is now in charge of Nigeria.
PSV's Ola Toivonen got the ball rolling with the opening goal after 44 minutes with a lovely header. The Bosnian side though showed why they were almost in South Africa for the world cup as Sejad Salihovic scored with a wonderful free-kick on 47 minutes.
Jonas Olsson put Sweden back in front with a tap-in at the far post after 67 minutes before tapping in his 2nd goal with seven minutes remaining. There was time for Ermin Zec to score with a tap-in in added time.
Marcus Berg secured the victory though, two minutes into added time with a well placed shot. Victory for Sweden then as Hamrén's men look towards the Autumn campaign of trying to qualify for Euro 2012 in Poland and Ukraine.

Malmo 2-1 IF Brommapojkarna 24th May 2010

With the pressure on them after Helsingborgs' victory, Malmo did their bit and ended the first half of the season with a victory that put the gap down to five points. It took just six minutes to settle the nerves by the home side as Alexander Nilsson put them ahead.
IF Brommpojkarna were looking for a perfect way to end their half of the season but never looked like really testing Malmo.
Malmo took their foot of the gas seemingly and it wasn't until after 64 minutes that they got a 2nd goal. Alexander Nilsson grabbing his 2nd of the game.
IF Brommapojkarna did get a goal themselves but it wasn't enough to earn a point. Pablo Pinones Arce and Wilton Figueiredo were both sent-off in added time as John Guidetti, on loan from Manchester City pulled a goal back.

Helsingborgs 2-1 Halmstads 22nd May 2010

Helsingborgs put the pressure on Malmo to win their game as they ousted Halmstads at the Olympia. It took the table-toppers just eight minutes to go in front when Ardian Gashi scored which set Helsingborgs up for another victory.
Half an hour in, Halmstads drew level to silence the home crowd of 11,000 plus. Tommy Jonsson scoring the goal. The 2nd half saw more conviction from Helsingborgs as they chased the game to go back in front. Back in front they went after 67 minutes when Gashi got his 2nd of the night and finally appeared to have sunk Halmstads. Halmstads are no pushovers and had a couple of reasonable chances to nick a point.

BK Hacken 1-1 Kalmar 22nd May 2010

The points shared at the Rambergsvallen between two sides that hope the 2nd half of the season will be better than the 1st. BK Hacken found themselves behind after 26 minutes as Daniel Sobralense put Kalmar in front.
BK Hacken were level though just four minutes later as talismatic striker Jonas Henriksson broke the Kalmar rearguard. BK Hacken will be a bit disappointed that all three points here were not secured while Kalmar will equally feel the same.

Djurgarden 1-1 Gefle 22nd May 2010

Djurgarden and Gefle end the first half of the season with the same points tally of 16 in what has been a season so far that has been up and down. Gefle with a Europa league campaign in July to look forward too will need a few players during the transfer window while Djurgarden need to get a run of form together.
Christer Youssef put the Stockholm side ahead with just eleven minutes remaining which looked to have the three points staying in Stockholm but in added time, Gefle's Jakob Orlov struck to end the first half of the season with a point.

Trelleborgs 2-0 GAIS 22nd May 2010

Trelleborgs ended a difficult first half of the season with a good 2-0 win over GAIS. The scoring was restricted to the few minutes into the 2nd half which saw Trelleborgs' Jonathan Asp break the deadlock. 53 minutes in and the game appeared over for GAIS as Mattias Adelstam finished the move.
GAIS will be a bit disappointed about how the season has gone so far while Trelleborgs have the break to fix up the squad.

Atvidabergs 1-2 Mjallby 22nd May 2010

Ativdabergs suffered another defeat this time by fellow promoted rivals Mjallby. Mjallby were much the better team and went ahead just before half-time thanks to Marcus Ekenbergs strike.
The 2nd half saw Atvidabergs get into the game and were level on the hour when Patrik Rosengren put the ball past Mattias Asper.
Mostapha El-Kabir scored what turned out to be the winner 11 minutes later which sees Mjallby in 4th and El-Kabir keeping up his good season. Atvidabergs go into the summer break in 15th place.

A good game but Atvidabergs will be another Allsvenskan side exiting the cup early. Tommy Thelin twice hurt Atvidabergs, who had forced extra-time when Daniel Svard leveled.

Round 12 Review

With four sides playing games in midweek Round 12 had two extra fixtures as a result but their was some landmarks in this round of games.
Orebro recorded four points this week as they remain 3rd behind pacesetters Helsingborgs and Malmo. After gaining a point away to IFK Goteborg, Orebro earned three points at home to Trelleborgs, who remain bottom.
Elfsborg were another side to play last Thursday and they collected a maximum six out of six points as they slip into 4th place. They thumped AIK 4-0 before following up with a 2-0 success at GAIS.
IF Brommpojkarna rose to 7th after beating BK Hacken 2-1 while Mjallby were 4-2 victors over 2nd placed Malmo. Gefle earned a point at home to IFK Goteborg while Halmstads are also in the hunt of European football after beating fellow hopefuls Djurgarden 2-0 at the Orjans Vall.
Helsingborgs finally lost this season as they went down 1-0 to Kalmar while AIK bounced back into form with a 4-1 success at home to Atvidabergs with World-cup bound Miran Burgic helping himself to a hat-trick.
Looking ahead to next weekend there is two fewer games than normal but the last round before the league takes a break for two months has some key games as usual. The pick of them Helsingborgs hosting Halmstads.

AIK 4-1 Atvidabergs 17th May 2010

AIk helped themselves to three points and four goals as they look to bounce back from what has been a disaster of a season so far for the defending champions.
Atvidabergs were bang in form not so long ago and never looked like matching that at the Rasunda.
Miran Burgic opened the scoring after just four minutes before making it 2-0 eleven minutes later to settle the nerves AIK had going into the game. Atvidabergs offered little in attack and were lucky not to be further than 2-0 down at half-time. They did however begin to attack in the 2nd half and when Paulus Roiha scored just after the hour AIK began to feel nervy again.
In fact it wasn't until added time that AIK finally saw off Atvidabergs as Miran Burgic completed his hat-trick. There was also smiles for Kevin Walker as the former Orebro winger made his first appearence since 2008 in the league when coming on for Dullee Johnson. Walker was instantly a hero as he found the net deep into stoppage time to secure a 4-1 win.

Orebro 2-0 Trelleborgs 17th May 2010

Orebro ended their first half of the season with a 2-0 win over bottom side Trelleborgs which sees them 3rd.
Roni Porokara opened the scoring for the Behrn Arena club after 22 minutes. Trellborgs had a couple of chances but were down by two after 31 minutes from Samuel Wowoah. The Liberian international with his first goal of the season.
Trelleborg stay bottom while Orebro continue their quest for Europa League football.

Kalmar 1-0 Helsingborgs 16th May 2010

Helsingborgs's first defeat of the season came at the hands of Kalmar. In truth it was a surprise but the result does ignite Kalmar's Europa League hopes which reflects on how tight the league is at the moment.
Daniel Mendes struck early after just two minutes for the winner but the Brazilian was sent-off on 27 minutes as Kalmar held on for a vital three points. Helsingborgs are now looking to Malmo to see if they suffer defeat.

Gefle 0-0 IFK Goteborg 16th May 2010

IFK Goteborg's below-par season continued as they were frustrated by Gefle, who themselves are looking over their shoulders at the bottom of the table.
IFK made the trip north hoping rather than expecting a result which showed. Gefle held firm though which could've been all three points but so far this season they are not enjoying the success of last season. Nonetheless Gefle like IFK have a Europa League campaign starting in two months to look forward in what has been inconsistent seasons for both.

GAIS 0-2 Elfsborg 16th May 2010

Elfsborg did their Europa League hopes a good cause as they made the short trip south to Goteborg against a revamped GAIS.
Emir Bajrami opened the scoring after 19 minutes which was to settle the any nerves going into the game. Elfsborg had been on the upper hand and were 2-0 up twenty minutes later as Denni Avdic scored again. Avdic had been a key man so far this season and his good season continues.
A good win for Elfsborg while a defeat for GAIS but all is not lost.

Sunday, May 16, 2010

Mjallby 4-2 Malmo 15th May 2010

A key defeat for Malmo as it gives Helsingborgs the opportunity to increase the gap at the top of the table while also giving Orebro the chance to close in on 2nd place.
It was the home side who started fantastically with Mostopha El-Kabir putting them in front after just eleven minuets before the man signed from NEC Nijmegan at the start of the season got his 2nd on 22 minutes.
David Lofquist has been in good form so far this season and he continued that with a 3rd goal on 44 minutes to send them 3-0 up at half-time.
Malmo showed why they are dangerous and in 2nd place as they pulled a goal back on 51 minutes through Daniel Larsson and found a 2nd goal just six minutes later thanks to Pontus Jansson. Malmo were chasing for a point at the very least but Mjallby wanted to hold on and when Daniel Nicklasson made it 4-2 to the hosts in added time which meant Malmo had lost for only the 2nd time this season.

IF Brommapojkarna 2-1 BK Hacken 15th May 2010

A tight game but the three points went to IF Brommapojkarna which leaves BK Hacken in sticky mess in the bottom half.
John Guidetti scored the opening goal for the hosts after 14 minutes from a through ball by Miiko Albornoz. Guidetti went off in the 59th minute after a bad tackle before Mathias Ranégie leveled the scores on 74 minutes.
A free-kick from the left on 79 minutes found Olof Guterstam who tapped home the winner to earn all three points for the side from the outskirts of Stockholm.

Halmstads 2-0 Djurgarden 15th May 2010

Halmstads put in a good showing to move right back into contention of a European spot. Djurgarden are another side involved in the big tussle at the moment for places in Europe. It was an Anselmo inspired performance that earned all three points here.
The first goal arrived on 11 minutes as Anselmo crossed but in the end his cross went through to the far corner of the net.
Anselmo got the 2nd goal with just two minuets remaining to seal the three points for Halmstads as they move up to within four points of 4th place.

IFK Goteborg 0-0 Orebro 13th May 2010

Not the result both sides were looking for. Orebro had the first couple of chances with Alejandro Bedoya coming close and IFK Goteborg were testing John Alvbage's reflexes.
Orebro were forcing themselves in the game and hit the crossbar in the 2nd half. Overall Orebro may well feel this was two points dropped as apposed to a point gained but any result in the Gamla Ullevi is a good result.

Elfsborg 4-0 AIK 12th May 2010

Elfsborg played their game tonight against AIK ahead of the rest and it turned out to be a great idea as they ran out clear winners against champions AIK.
Denni Avdic got the ball rolling after just five minutes with a delightful volley which Tomi Maanoja was powerless to stop.
The 2nd arrived on 20 minutes after some good work by Johan Larsson left Martin Ericsson to plant past Maanoja. Johan Larsson looked dangerous out on the wing and was involved in a one two that sadly didn't have the finish to match.
Avdic had a chance to make it 3-0 but his header was wide before AIK had a free-kick from Antonio Flávio sent-over. Nicklas Backman then narrowly missed the target from a volley that was dangerous.
Per Karlsson pulled down Denni Avdic on 54 minutes which resulted in a red-card before Avdic converted the penalty to make it 3-0. Amadou Jawo sealed the result with a fourth goal on 63 minutes thanks to some great work by Emir Bajrami.

Round 11 Review

In this round Helsingborgs maintained their lead at the top of the table with a 3-1 success in Gefle while also down to ten men.
Closest challengers Malmo were victorious in a 3-1 win over in-form Atvidabergs. That leaves the top two unchanged.
3rd placed Orebro kept hold of their Europa League place with a narrow but effective 1-0 win over Djurgarden, who themselves are in the hunt for a Europa league place.
Elsewhere in the battle for Europe saw Mjallby beat fellow hopefuls Elfsborg 2-0 while Halmstads were beaten 2-1 at home to BK Hacken. GAIS were unlucky to drop points in the Goteborg derby with IFK.
To the bottom and it was a good round for AIK as they beat fellow basement strugglers Trelleborgs 1-0. Kalmar survived a late scare to beat IF Brommapojkarna 3-2 which moves them up the table.

Gefle 1-3 Helsingborgs 10th May 2010

Table topping Helsingborgs maintained the gap over Malmo as they went north to Gefle and won. It wasn't all plain sailing as Alexander Gerndt gave the hosts a 50th minute lead. Helsingborgs were then reduced to ten men as Marcus Nilsson was sent-off on 67 minutes. But Helsingborgs showed great character as May Mahlangu scored his first goal of the season on 78 minutes. Helsingborgs had the better of the game and took the lead five minutes later with defender Joel Ekstrand getting in on the act.
Another defender Marcus Lantz made it 3-1 with just two minutes remaining. A fantastic win for Helsingborgs who have something about them this year while Gefle were stunned.

IF Brommapojkarna 2-3 Kalmar 10th May 2010

Kalmar had to survive a late scare as they let their 3-0 lead slip to a tense finish. Ricardo Santos was first to score as he struck just after half-time before Stefan Alander made it 2-0 on 56 minutes. The Brazilian frontman Santos made it 3-0 just seven minutes later which appeared to tie up the game for Kalmar.
IF Brommapojkarna pulled a goal back on 74 minutes through Ferhat Korkmaz which put a bit of pressure on Kalmar and that pressure told when IF Brommapojkarna got another goal just eleven minutes later as Mauricio Albornoz got his first goal of the season. That set up a frantic finish which Kalmar held on but really they should've had the game wrapped up. Three points is three points at the end of the day.

GAIS 0-0 IFK Goteborg 10th May 2010

A stalemate in the Goteborg derby between a resurgent GAIS and an improving IFK side. Both sides could've done with a result here that a draw was always on the cards going into the match. GAIS were looking good and Aram Khalili was just too short to touch in the opening goal before Hédinsson had a glorious chance.
IFK had a few chances but overall GAIS were unlucky not to win.

Gefle awarded Europa League place for 2010

Gefle have been awarded the extra Europa League spot to compete in the 2010-11 Europa League this summer. The Gavle club had won the fair-play league which has granted them European football later this summer and a good financial bonus as well.
Sweden's Allsvenskan had been drawn out as one of the three countries allowed to enter an extra team into the Europa League as a result of the fair-play coefficient which saw Denmark and Finland awarded extra spots.
Gefle join Kalmar, Elfsborg, and IFK Goteborg in the Europa League in July but they start in the first qualifying round which could see them drawn against the likes of MyPA of Finland who also won the fair play league.

Halmstads 1-2 BK Hacken 9th May 2010

Finally BK Hacken arrested the slump in form that saw them drop from 2nd place to just above the relegation play-off place in the space of a month and a half. Halmstads again have been hot and cold this year.
This game got off to an electric pace as Jonas Henriksson scored the fastest goal this season when he netted in the first minute. Halmstads reponded with a goal just as rapid as BK Hacken's as Johnny Lundberg struck in the 2nd minute. Scoring wasn't finished and it was on the quarter-hour when Henriksson struck for his 2nd of the evening as BK Hacken's rapid start bought them the lead.
Halmstads in the end were beaten which leaves them two point above the relegation play-off zone but also just four points from a Europa league place. BK Hacken up to within three points of a Europa league spot.

Mjallby 2-0 Elfsborg 9th May 2010

Mjallby are back in the Europa League places in 4th after a 2-0 victory over Elfsborg. This season continues to be getting better and better for the side from the small town of Solvesborg on the south coast.
Elfsborg were shocked as Tobias Grahn got his first goal of 2010 seconds into the second half. Elfsborg tried to get back into the game but Mjallby struck at the wrong time for them as David Lofquist scored on 83 minutes to keep up a good season for him personally. Elfsborg drop to 5th just outside the European places.

AIK 1-0 Trelleborgs 9th May 2010

AIK will take this result with both hands as they finally got a win at home. Trelleborgs had lifted themselves off the bottom last week which left AIK stranded and so the need to win this game was as high as ever to avoid being further behind at the bottom of the Allsvenskan.
It may be a desperate season so far for AIK but Antonio Flávio's goal at least gave them victory here on what was a tight and closely fought encounter. Antonio Flávio's goal on 34 minutes settled the outcome although Trelleborgs could be considered unlucky not to get a point.

Orebro 1-0 Djurgarden 9th May 2010

Orebro's great season continues as they ended the mini revival Djurgarden had been on in recent weeks. Just one goal was needed at the Behrn Arena to decide this game and it came in to form of a Djurgarden player. Kebba Ceesay credited with the own goal after 49 minutes.
Orebro maintain 3rd place after this good result while Djurgarden are three points off 4th spot in the chase for the Europa league place.

Sunday, May 9, 2010

Malmo 3-1 Atvidabergs 8th May 2010

2nd placed Malmo closed in on leaders Helsingborgs after a 3-1 victory over in-form Atvidabergs. Agon Mehmeti opened the scoring for Malmo after just 19 minutes but that lead was cancelled out just three minutes later through Nigerian Etuwe Prince Eboagwu.
Malmo's league position showed as they retook the lead just three minutes after conceding when Guillermo Molins finished. Atvidabergs had been in great form but were facing defeat here and when Wilton Figueiredo got the third goal on 78 minutes Atvidabergs were finally beaten. Malmo will be looking for Helsingborgs to slip up when they go to Gefle on Monday night.

Round 10 Review

Round ten was one to forget for AIK as they were trashed 4-0 by IFK Goteborg at the Gamla Ullevi. GAIS were another side to take points off Stockholm opposition as they earned a 1-1 draw away to Djurgarden.
Trelleborgs moved off the bottom of the table with a 2-1 success over Mjallby who themselves lose ground in the Europa League hunt.
Atvidabergs kept up their fantastic run of form with another thumping victory this time a 4-1 win over IF Brommapojkarna.
Gefle overcame BK Hacken 2-0 at the Rambergsvallen as BK continue their dramatic slide while Kalmar were 1-0 winners over Halmstads.
Helsingborgs stay top after a 2-1 victory at home to Orebro while Malmo lost ground as they blew a 2-0 lead to draw 2-2 against Elfsborg.
Helsingborgs are five points clear while AIK are bottom with just six points to show for their efforts while Malmo, Orebro and Elfsborg occupy the Europa League places after Round 10.

Helsingborgs 2-1 Orebro 6th May 2010

Helsingborgs remain top of the table and unbeaten as they sent Orebro home with nothing. Kim Olsen hit the post early on as Orebro threatened. Helsingborgs started the game empathically and were ahead after just eleven minutes when Christoffer Andersson put away a fantastic free-kick after Rasmus Jonsson was felled.
Jonsson himself got the 2nd goal six minutes later as long-ball was won by Jonsson who finished confidently past John Alvbage. Orebro were stunned by the double blow but still kept themselves in the game.
Alejandro Bedoya's pinpoint cross on the hour was met by Paulinho Guará who riffled in for 2-1 to kept Orebro firmly in the contest. Helsingborgs held on for another victory that keeps them ahead of Malmo.

Djurgarden 1-1 GAIS 6th May 2010

Djurgarden may feel they should've won but they had to settle for a draw as GAIS came battling back to force a result.
It was Djurgarden who took the lead with a fantastic strike from Finn Kasper Hamalainen after Kebba Ceesay won possession on 16 minutes.
GAIS were not prepared to go home with nothing and were level just three minutes after half-time when Wanderson scored a real poachers effort through Tommi Vaiho's legs.
Petter Gustafsson managed to get himself sent-off in stoppage time for a 2nd yellow card which looked harsh.

IFK Goteborg 4-0 AIK 6th May 2010

Take it as you will but IFK heaped more misery on defending champions AIK while also getting some revenge for that narrow title loss last November.
It was the experienced Thomas Olsson that put the hosts ahead after 37 minutes thanks to a confident finish from Par Eriksson's pull back.
Olsson got his 2nd on 52 minutes as his toe-poke slid past Tomi Maanoja into the bottom corner. Robin Soder made it 3-0 on the hour as he responded quickest to a rebound off the crossbar following Elmar Bjarnason's long-range effort, to smash home.
IFK rounded off a pleasing day when Elmar Bjarnason headed from close range past Maanoja on 72 minutes. AIK another poor performance while IFK can enjoy a good day out.

Trelleborgs 2-1 Mjallby 6th May 2010

Trelleborgs earned a vital three points as they battle at the foot of the table. Mjallby surprisingly have been up around the European places so far and this was a surprise result.
It took 26 minutes for the game to produce a goal and it came from Jonathan Asp who smashed home from Magnus Andersson's cross.
David Lofquist leveled after 51 minutes which meant Trelleborgs had to go for broke to get the three points. They secured the vital goal on 56 minutes when Mattias Adelstam turned in to put Trelleborgs ahead. Mjallby pressed but are defeated.

Thursday, May 6, 2010

Elfsborg 2-2 Malmo 5th May 2010

Malmo surrendered a two goal lead as they dropped two points which gives Helsingborgs the opportunity to increase the gap at the top of the Allsvenskan on Thursday night.
Elfsborg had the first real chance of the match but that was comfortably saved by Johan Dahlin. Malmo then attacked and scored a fantastic goal after 26 minutes with Jimmy Durmaz placing his curled shot expertly.
It got better for Malmo just nine minuets later when Wilton Figueiredo shot low past Joakim Wulff. Elfsborg replied straight from the kick-off as Denni Avdic put away the rebound from Johan Dahlin.
To the 2nd half and Malmo were awarded a penalty when Johan Karlsson was adjudged to have fouled Daniel Larsson in the area. The penalty was well saved by Joakim Wulff and that was to prove deceitful in this game.
With just four minuets remaining Elfsborg won a penalty of their own after a handball and Denni Avdic made no mistake in converting and rescuing a point for the Yellows of Boras.

Atvidabergs 4-1 IF Brommapojkarna 5th May 2010

Atvidabergs continued their fine form as they move away from the relegation zone after a thumping 4-1 victory over IF Brommapojkarna.
The opening goal was scored after just three minutes with key man Haris Radetinac involved as Kristian Bergstrom drilled home from inside the area.
Bergstrom turned provider on 35 minutes as his free-kick was nodded in by Jesper Arvidsson. Atvidabergs were running away with the game now.
The 2nd half had the wait until twelve minutes from time when Paulus Roiha perfectly placed shot beat Benny Lekstrom. Bosnian Haris Radetinac then provided his 2nd assist of the night when he teed up Amir Suljic for a peach of a goal which Lekstrom couldn't keep out.
IF Brommapojkarna did manage a goal when Joakim Runnemo pulled one back in stoppage time.

BK Hacken 0-2 Gefle 5th May 2010

Gefle came away from the Rambergsvallen with all three points and leave BK Hacken with another defeat that continues their slide down the table.
Alexander Gerndt put Gefle ahead after 35 minutes after Christoffer Kallqvist could only parry his first effort. BK Hacken behind again at home.
The second goal killed the Goteborg side off as a free-kick from 35 yards from Jonatan Berg was too hot to handle for Kallqvist.
A good win for Gefle while for BK Hacken they need to end this run quick.

Kalmar 1-0 Halmstads 5th May 2010

Kalmar secured a vital three points at home to Halmstads which in turn dents their hopes of Europa League football.
Kalmar enjoyed some early pressure in the sunny evening while Petter Wasta had to be alert to stop a rocket shot. Halmstads had Robin Mallkvist to thank for keeping the scores level when he saved well from a close range header from Abiola Dauda.
Dauda did however get the better of Mallkvist when his close range shot flew past him for 1-0 on 80 minutes. That win ensures Kalmar stay 11th while Halmstads are 10th.

Elsewhere down at the bottom half of the table both Gelfe and Kalmar had to settle for a point in their 0-0 draw in Gavle.
After ten games Helsingborgs stay unbeaten while Orebro are yet to draw a game. Elfsborg are the leagues top scorers so far with 19 goals in ten games while Helsingborgs have also conceded the least number of goals with just two put past them. Kalmar have conceded the most goals with 15 while Trelleborgs have the worst goal difference in the league with -13.

GAIS 0-0 Helsingborgs 3rd May 2010

Table toppers Helsingborgs dropped two points which closes the gap at the top to three points after Malmo were victorious on Sunday.
It was Markus Lantz who tested Dime Jankulovski with a testing shot but the GAIS stopper was equal to the effort. Chances were few on the rough and sandy Gamla Ullevi turf which could also be blamed for the mix-up between Jankulovski and his defense in the 2nd half as they got away with an awkward bounce.
Christoffer Andersson came close late on but his half-volley was the wrong side of Jankulovski's left-hand post. With time running out Jankulovski was again called into action as he forced Hannu Patronen's goal-bound header over.
GAIS will take this result but for Helsingborgs they could've and properly should've won all three points here.

Mjallby 0-0 IFK Goteborg 3rd May 2010

Mjallby held on to a good point at home to IFK Goteborg. Not the result IFK Goteborg had in mind and they are still after ten games yet to reach double figures point wise. Mjallby though could consider themselves lucky in this game.
IFK Goteborg won a penalty after a handball by Patrik Rosengren. The spot-kick though was saved by Mattias Asper after Jakob Johannson slipped as he struck the penalty.
Later in the game IFK Goteborg had a perfect legit goal ruled out as the referee deemed it never crossed the line, although T.V cameras suggest otherwise.
Mattias Asper had to save well from Thomas Olsson late on in the first-half. Stefan Selakovic found Asper in great form as his volley was well saved as Mjallby held on.

Orebro 2-0 BK Hacken 2nd May 2010

Last year BK Hacken were the awkward opponent for Orebro, no such worries in the first meeting in 2010 as Orebro stay in the Europa league places after this result.
Scoring began in spectactular fashion as Magnus Kihlberg showed what he could do with a screamer on 14 minutes. The veteran is very much part of the set-up as ever at Orebro and this was another goal in what is turning out to be a good season for both him and Orebro.
The 2nd goal was scored by a man who knows how to find that net. Paulinho Guará got his 2nd goal of the season as he slid the ball past Christoffer Kallqvist.
BK Hacken defeated as they continue their poor run while Orebro are back on track after their midweek misery.

Gefle 0-0 Kalmar 2nd May 2010

A defensive shut-out was what took centre stage as Kalmar claimed a point against a Gefle side starting to struggle.
Having beaten Orebro 3-0 in midweek Kalmar were looking to build on that result with a another good on here and in the end had to settle for a point.
Kalmar were forced to go defensive when Paulus Arajuuri was shown red by Martin Ingvarsson on 41 minutes. Gefle had to go for the win but had no luck and have to share the points.

IF Brommapojkarna 1-0 Halmstads 2nd May 2010

IF Brommapojkarna are on a roll in recent weeks. They have been picking up some good vital wins in recent games and this was another. Halmstads were on a good run until they suffered a big defeat in Orebro.
Only one goal was needed here for IF Brommapojkarna and it came from Halmstads Tomas Zvirgzdauskas who slid the ball agonizingly past Robin Malmkvist. A good result for the Stockholm side while Halmstads need to pick them selves up.

Atvidabergs 1-1 Elfsborg 2nd May 2010

What has happened to Atvidabergs in the last two weeks. They had been looking like falling adrift at the bottom until they found that win over IFK Goteborg and followed up by thumping Trelleborgs and now got a very good result against Elfsborg.
One man who has played his part in the revival is Bosnian Haris Radetinac. It was Radetinac who opened the scoring at the Kopparvallen by turning in a loose ball in the box after 27 minutes of play.
Elfsborg played some good football at times and they were level on 41 minutes when Amadou Jawo found Denni Avdic who looped his effort over Henrik Gustafsson. Elfsborg had more chances to win the game in the 2nd half and were unlucky as they hit the bar. Points shared but Atvidabergs will be happier.

Malmo 2-0 Trelleborgs 2nd May 2010

The Southern derby ended with Malmo winning 2-0 as Trellborgs sink to the bottom of the Allsvenskan.
Things didn't get off to a great start for the hosts when Agon Mehmeti was taken off after ten minutes. Jimmy Durmaz opened the scoring with a delightful strike which beat Fredrik Persson all ends up.
Malmo ended the game with a 2nd goal on 87 minutes after Daniel Larsson's cross was turned in by Guillermo Molins. Malmo will be looking for Helsingborgs to drop points on Monday night.

AIK 1-2 Djurgarden 2nd May 2010

Derby day in Stockholm between the biggest rivals in the capital and it was Djurgarden who won the bragging rights as they surprised AIK.
AIK have not been themselves so far this year and this was another disappointing home result. It was AIK however, who went in front thanks to a goal after two minutes. Antonio Flávio may claim the goal but it does go down as an own goal which opened the scoring in front of the AIK fans.
38 minutes in Joel Perovuo headed Djurgarden level from a corner which set the derby into a frenzy.
A stunner on 72 minutes from Johan Oremo gave Djurgarden the lead with a cool finish past Tomi Maanoja. AIK had a shout for a penalty which was turned down by referee Stefan Johannesson. Djurgarden were reduced to ten men when Yosif Ayuba was shown red with two minutes remaining.

Mjallby, the season's surprise package so far were difficult to break down at times and despite the incident with Mostapha El-Kabir after being substituted Mjallby were undone in the final six minutes.
A great header from Kennedy Igboananike won the game for Djurgarden and they can now look up after this result. Mjallby stay in the top six.

IFK Goteborg 0-2 Malmo 29th April 2010

There is something about Malmo this season that we haven't seen for a few years now and that it they are hungry for success. This result was a very impressive one as IFK Goteborg have been good at home so far.
After 21 minutes main treat Daniel Larsson put the southern side ahead from Wilton Figueiredo's assist. Malmo have a good young squad and that was underlined when Sweden U-21 international Guillermo Molins put the result beyond doubt with a 2nd goal for Malmo on 69 minutes.
Ricardinho was sent-off for a 2nd yellow but that didn't faze Malmo as they held out for a priceless victory that keeps them in touch with Helsingborgs at the top of the table. IFK Goteborg well their season is turning bad.

Trelleborgs 0-3 Atvidabergs 29th April 2010

If victory over IFK Goteborg wasn't surprising enough this was truly out of the blue. Having not won since last weekend Atvidabergs have turned a corner and this was a crushing defeat for Trelleborgs.
Viktor Prodell put them on their way when he struck after 14 minutes before the Trelleborgs back line was exposed again on 31 minutes with Kristian Bergstrom benefiting with his first goal of the season.
A third goal wasn't long coming and ten minutes later Etuwe Prince Eboagwu killed the game as a contest and secure another surprise three points for the newly-promoted side.

Helsingborgs 1-0 AIK 29th April 2010

Helsingborgs continue to beat all before them as they stay top after this result. AIK were looking to build on their first win a few weeks ago but were undone by a single goal at the Olympia.
Mattias Lindstrom was the man responsible for bringing all three points to Helsingborgs after his strike on 37 minutes.
AIK still in the bottom half but only a matter of time before they pick up form surely.
