Champions League preview

2008 Allsvenskan champions Kalmar play 2008-09 Hungarian champions Debrecen over two-legs this month.
Kalmar travel to Hungary for the 1st leg tomorrow night in what should be an even game for both sides. Kalmar have lost key men since their title win. The likes of Viktor Elm and Patrik Ingelsten have departed but Kalmar continue to play good football with Rasmus Elm leading way.

Kalmar:
Kalmar will be looking to maybe get a draw in Hungary and finish the task at the Fredriksskans. Rasmus Elm has been in fantastic form of late with 2 goals against Malmo and another few against Djurgarden on Saturday. Daniel Mendes has been re-born since his AIK stint and Petter Wasta has proved strong when called upon.
A thumping 6-1 win over Djurgarden on Saturday has raised the hopes of the fans of going through against their Hungarian opponents.

Debrecen:
Debrecen will be a difficult task for Kalmar. Debrecen have won the Soproni Liga 4 times in the last 5 seasons. Debrecen have mostly Hungarian players. Debrecen have played against Swedish opposition before when the exited the champions league in 2007-08 to Elfsborg. So maybe Kalmar could do the same?
