Debrecen 2-0 Kalmar 15th July 2009

Kalmar suffered a disappointing 2-0 defeat at the hands of Hungarian champions Debrecen yesterday. A passionate home support for Debrecen roared the team on but it wasn't until late on that Debrecen broke the deadlock. Peter Wastå was required to make a couple of good saves before David Elm forced a fine save out of Vukašin Poleksić. But on 73 minutes Debrecen broke on the counter and a low cross from Loránt Oláh was turned in by Jozsef Varga from close range, and booked for overcelebrating. It appeared theat it was going to finish 1-0 until 4 minutes from time when a Tibor Dombi throw found Zoltán Kiss who shot past Petter Wastå for a 2-0 win. Kalmar will have their work cut-out to win the tie next week.
