Elfsborg achieved a fantastic result not only for them but for the Allsvenskan overall. Sporting Braga started as favourites for the home leg but Elfsborg caused a shock which they will be favourites to go through in Sweden next week.
Helgi Valur Daníelsson gave Elfsborg the lead on 16 minutes to silence the expectant home crowd in the Municipal in Braga.
Albert Meyong levelled the scores 5 minutes into the 2nd half from the penalty spot which appeared to give Sporting the push they needed. But Elfsborg re-took the lead on 73 minutes thanks to Emir Bajrami. That goal ensures Elfsborg have a lead to defend next week, albeit a narrow one.
