Sweden's interest in European competition ended last night when Elfsborg couldn't overcome the 3-0 loss last week. Magnus Haglund's side were always going to face a massive task in overcomming that loss but did record a good win against the Italians Lazio.
Lazio had one foot in the group stage but Elfsborg were looking to at least beat them. Beat them they did thanks to a single goal on 70 minutes from Denni Avdic, to secure a famous win for Elfsborg.
Elfsborg can now consentrate on the Allsvenskan title bid which reaches it climax at the end of October.
