IFK Göteborg 2-2 Helsingborgs 16th August 2009

IFK Goteborg went level at the top with Elfsborg after being held to a draw by visiting Helsingborgs. Helsingborgs made the relatively short trip to Goteborg and forced a point. Helsingborgs were saved when keeper Andersson saved brilliently. IFK were having chances but wasted a defensive gift. Sebastian Eriksson gave the home side the lead on 28 minutes with a glancing header and on the half-hour it was 2-0 when Erik Lund found a gap in the defence and the bottom corner. Two minutes into the 2nd half René Makondelé pulled one back for the visitors when he headed from a shot that rebounded off the bar. Helsingborgs levelled the scores on 77 minutes when Makondelé got his 2nd of the day with a bottom corner shot. Helsingborg had a chance when the IFK defence cleared off the line late on. Helsingborg secured a point.
